SASSA Announces SRD Payment Dates on 23 September 2024

Millions have been approved for SRD grant payments, and SASSA has confirmed the payment schedule for September. The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced the dates for the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant payments for September 2024.

These payment dates let millions know when they can expect to receive their September SASSA SRD grant payments.

SASSA has confirmed that approved SRD grant applicants will receive their payments between September 23 and September 28, 2024. Payments for those approved in September will be processed from September 23 to September 28, 2024.

SASSA reminded beneficiaries that it could take 2 to 3 working days for the funds to appear in their bank accounts. Once the money is available, beneficiaries can access and use their grants.

Clients should check their status on the SRD website to find out the exact date their payment will appear in their bank accounts.

Checking Your SRD Grant Status

To find your payment information, you can visit the SASSA website and complete a status check for the R350 payments scheduled for September. SRD grant beneficiaries are encouraged to verify their payment status to confirm if they’ve been approved for September. You can check your status online to see the exact date your payment will appear.

How SASSA Verifies SRD Grant Applications

When you apply for an SRD grant, you’ll need to provide your details, including your ID number, name, and surname, which will be sent to the Department of Home Affairs for verification.

Next, your ID number is verified against several databases, such as those from the South African Revenue Service (SARS), the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), and the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS), to assess your financial situation.

Both your ID number and mobile number will go through a fraud risk assessment to confirm the authenticity of your application. Once all these checks are complete, SASSA will review your application and make a decision on whether to approve or deny the SRD grant.
