Minister Lindiwe Zulu’s Visit Marks a Significant Step Towards Social Development

Ncera Village, South Africa – In a significant move towards social development, Minister Lindiwe Zulu of the Department of Social Development visited  the humble village of Ncera. She was accompanied by the Eastern Cape MEC for Social Development and the Executive Mayor of Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality, Princess Faku.

Handing Over of Essential Facilities

The purpose of their visit was to hand over an Information Resource Centre, a borehole, water storage tanks, and solar-powered water pumps. The day was marked by a sense of anticipation and excitement as the villagers gathered to witness the handover ceremony.

SASSA’s Contribution

As part of the programme, the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) rendered services such as COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) enquiries and full office services. This initiative is expected to bring much-needed relief and support to the villagers during these challenging times.

Promoting Sports & Fitness

Adding a touch of enthusiasm to the event, Minister Zulu also had an opportunity to test the boxing ring donated by the BCM Mayor. This gesture was symbolic of the government’s commitment to promoting sports and fitness among the youth.

It was a testament to the government’s commitment to uplift and empower communities, one village at a time.
